One of the Few: A Marine Fighter Pilot’s Reconnaissance of the Christian Worldview by Jason B. Ladd

I was approached by Jason B. Ladd who was seeking a review of his book, One of the Few: A Marine Fighter Pilot’s Reconnaissance of the Christian Worldview. The book is a Christian non-fiction in which he intermingles his story of growing up in a military family then up through his years as a Marine fighter pilot as well as that of a husband and father with his personal insights as he navigates through life in general while seeking out truth and God.

The author provided the following brief summary of his book: “A Marine fighter pilot struggles with doubt during a search for truth and a reasonable defense of the Christian faith.”

After recently finishing his book, I truly can say I don’t know how to give justice to Mr. Ladd’s book. Even if you are not someone who enjoys reading non-fiction and in particular military genre, I believe you will be encouraged and blessed by this book. Life is full of battles and the imagery of such whether you are a Christian or not. I found it very appropriate that this book utilizes military stories a well as those of daily life in order to clarify and explain the struggles and discovery of Christian faith. This book doesn’t stop at just discussing a journey of faith but provides insights into what it means to follow Christ in the world of today. It discusses real issues and struggles and does so in such a way that doesn’t preach but informs and enlightens. Mr Ladd has a talent for story-telling and conveying meaningful insight. Whether you are a Christian or seeking out God for yourself, I believe you will be both encouraged and gain a better understanding of the Christian faith. I also feel if you are already a Christian you will be challenged in your own personal journey.
